We are a vibrant group of people living in Göttingen, Germany, hailing from various parts of Kerala, India. Our community, known as Mallus@Göttingen, is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Kerala while fostering a spirit of unity and integration within the diverse cultural landscape of Germany.

Mallus@Göttingen, we come together as a family away from home. Despite our diverse backgrounds and regions within Kerala, we are united by our shared traditions, language, and a profound sense of camaraderie. Our community is open and welcoming, eager to integrate with the broader German society while maintaining our unique cultural identity.

Our mission is to create a vibrant and inclusive community that celebrates the best of both Indian and German cultures. We believe in the power of cultural exchange to enhance understanding, foster diverse thoughts, and build bridges between different communities. To this end, we actively participate in and organize numerous cultural festivals and events that highlight the beauty and diversity of our heritage.

Over the years, we have successfully conducted many cultural fests that have not only showcased the richness of Kerala's traditions but have also facilitated cultural integration between Germany and India.

Our Journey:

• 2023: Successfully organized Onam celebration, Christmas Carol home visits, and Christmas Night celebration
• 2024: Continued our tradition with vibrant Onam festivities, Christmas Carol services, and a memorable Christmas Night event
• 2025: Looking forward to conducting Christmas Carol home visits (December 6 & 13) and Christmas Night celebration, followed by our grand Onam celebration in September

These events include traditional Onam celebrations, where we indulge in a grand feast (sadhya), folk dances like Thiruvathira and diverse other performances, and various traditional games. Additionally, we host Christmas Carol home visits and Christmas Night celebrations, bringing a touch of Kerala's festive spirit to Göttingen.

Our events are designed to be inclusive, inviting participation from both the Malayalee community and our German friends. This cultural exchange helps us appreciate and understand each other's customs and traditions, enriching our lives and fostering mutual respect and admiration.

We are committed to integrating seamlessly into German society while preserving our cultural roots. Our community activities extend beyond traditional celebrations to include social gatherings, language exchange programs, and collaborative events with local German groups.
